Don't mess with this guy

Thanks to my friend Simon for the link to this video. Enjoy!

He has said some silly (and offensive) things, done even more bizarre things, but right at the start of my Christian pilgrimage a couple of his books encouraged me to cultivate a sensitivity to and enjoyment of God’s presence. For this I am grateful. Yes, I was naive and mislead at points, but his Fundie critics tend to wind me up more than he does.

I saw his brother, Henry Hinn in Ottawa. It was a powerful experience. I can't help shaking my head at some of the antics, but I can't deny what I felt in that place. I sometimes wish Benny would just shut up, that is where I get embarrassed. It would be nice to see someone with that kind of faith operating within a more balanced context - too bad a lot of the better teachers are scared crapless at the Benny's antics. I gave up following them after suffering through a few of Benny's "teachings".

I wonder how many know the music behind the video. I could be wrong, but it sounds awfully similar to the Christian death metal band Extol from Norway, I think. Don't ask me how I know this. :P

Benny Hinn is a fraud pure and simple. And as for this "faith" - after more than 30 years not one single medically attested healing. Fabulous. - s

"The Door" Magazine can give you a number of excellent resources that critique Hinn's ministry.

I actually went to one of his crusades in Toronto a few years ago. One of the warm-up speakers had the crowd chanting:

"A dollar a day keeps the devil away!"

He said it and the crowd repeated it, and then he said it again louder and so on and so forth.

Yikes!

Chris wrote regarding his influence by Benny Hinn:

Thats an understatement! I remember being smacked round the head with your ski jacket whilst you screamed out "TTOOUUCCHH" on many an occasion!

I still carry the scars, both physically and mentally!

Blessings, Simon

's', you sound like you are in denial.

EVERYONE LISTEN: Chris Weimer listens to Christian death music! *points and laughs*

Dan, I like this "A dollar a day keeps the devil away!" Time to appropriate its wisdom for CTRVHM.

Simon, you misunderstood me. If I was wacking you round the head with something it's because you were being a prat.

Can Canada (I think that's still his citizenship) send him to Iraq? The factions will have NO chance.

I have to thank you for taking the time to upload, CT. That sort of special touch is why I come here...
