Guess the author!
“[The Apostle Paul] breathed an air that is too rarified for us. And most of us find that air stifling - suffocating even. And so we seek to domesticate him, to make him more like us. But he continually resists such efforts”
I’ll give you a clue: his name will forever be associated with Karl Barth (and no, it isn’t Doug Campbell!)

Bultmann?
Good guess, but no.
Another clue: the author is still alive and well!
Sounds like something Lou Martyn would say.
Jim West
George Hunsinger?
Emil Brunner?
All good suggestions, but none right yet.
Okay, the author recently published an article in a book on Barth and evangelicalism on Universalism!
That was the final clue!
It's gotta be Bruce McCormack then. I went with Hunsinger because McCormack was so obvious.
I would have guessed Roetzel until you mentioned Barth... but at this point I'm thinking it's a theologian and not a Pauline scholar which means I'm SOL.
Dan, you know, in retrospect I think that this particular challenge was unfairly misleading!
And yes, NICK has answered correctly!
