There's a seminarian and ex-N.T. Wright fan now writing rebuttals to Wright's views starting with Wright's neo-Preteristic interpretation of the fall of Jerusalem. The person I'm speaking of is Thom Stark, and his new book is titled, The Human Faces of God. Highly recommended.
(Edward Adams in The Stars Will Fall, already dismantled Wright's arguments concerning 2 Peter.)
Stark and Adams demonstrate exactly how Wright's neo-conservative biblical interpretations fail.
I'd also like to hear more from N.T. Wright concerning the "huge upheavals" he mentions here:
The Jesus I have discovered through historical research is . . . not the Jesus I expected or wanted to find when I began this work nearly twenty years ago. Studying Jesus has been the occasion for huge upheavals in my personal life, my spirituality, my theology, and my psyche. . . . Second, the Jesus I have discovered is clearly of enormous relevance to the contemporary world and Church. I know that others with very different Jesuses would say this as well, so you may find the point irrelevant. . . . Let me put it like this. After fifteen years of serious historical Jesus study, I still say the creed ex animo; but I now mean something very different by it, not least by the word “god” itself.

Fascinating fact: when I drew this I was sat a mere 5 yards from the man himself. Fortunately fire did not shoot out of his mouth and destroy me.
Genuis is obviously contageous
I wonder how Tom Wright would respond to this essay, book, and website, which summarize the most comprehensive 50 year long research project ever done into Christianity.

Plus conventional religion is not at all about Real God, but is entirely about the ego and its fear based need for consoling illusions.

What's that line coming from the Bishop's unmentionables? Did he pee himself while dispensing his roundhouse kick to Crossan?
