The importance of writing it down

These last couple of weeks I have been preparing two papers for the upcoming Douglas Campbell conference at Kings College London (one on Paul and Athanasius, and another on πίστις Χριστου, εκ πίστεως and all that jazz). It has meant quite a bit of writing, and I am exhausted, but I have enjoyed it so much. I had forgotten just how exciting it is to create, to "write-think", and not just read. I am resolving to continue writing as a habit, especially after encouraging experiences at SBL.

Speaking of which, a publishing house has asked me to write a couple of books for them, my thesis is finally being published by another (yet to sign the contract, but should soon, and then I will drone on about it continually), the Campbell conference book should be out in the new year (hope hope!), and I really want to produce something on Bultmann too. So I may well have my hands full in the coming year...

My post this time next year, in other words, might be: "I am sick of writing!"
