Technology

Here I am, off to teach an early morning class on NT Greek, and I find myself taking:
  • A laptop
  • an iPad
  • a mobile phone
  • Two clever electronic key cards
  • an mp3 player and
  • a memory stick
If there is an economic meltdown and the electromagnetic poles of the earth flip wiping all electronic data clean, I suspect that I am going to find it difficult to deliver lectures!

You got an iPad? Cool. Well done.

You should be able to dispense with the MP3 player, particularly if you get some decent bluetooth headphones for the iPad so you can keep it out of sight when you get to the badlands south of the river. Don't see why you need the laptop either, the iPad will do all you need. Memory stick - well, I guess so, but you could use iPad/cloud for your data.

Can't help you with the key cards, but if it's a Windows laptop it's probably best used to bludgeon any locked doors open. Sorted.

Explain !! Why do you need so much. I teach intro Greek x2 this year. For one, I use a computer, for the other, just an iPad and speakers (projectors of course).

Danny

btw, Are you using 2Screens on the iPad? It's great

a few years ago I taught an intensive NT course at a college in Africa. After enquiring about the availability of computers and digital projectors, overheads, and the like, my host pointed out that they regularly lost electric power, and offered the following "advice": "I sure hope you remember how to use chalk!"

Chalk! Well, fair enough

Danny, how do I do his two screen job?

Well, you don't necessarily need the app called 2Screens. It turns your iPad into a whiteboard. So I export my keynote files as a PDF, and then I'm able to interact with the content on screen with the whiteboard feature.

Glad to see you embracing tech...that is...the hardware rather than the department!
