Has anyone had anything to do with the Italian New Testament scholar, Romano Penna? In particular, could anyone tell me anything about his work on Paul. I can't read Italian and I'd like to know what he's about. Cheers.
You can also see his list of publications by searching his name at www.internetbookshop.it
The best source of books in Italian anywhere. Fast, accurate, and inexpensive. You can get a 500 page book for $30 and you would pay over $5990 for the same size volume at Brill. (that last bit is an exaggeration, barely, but the rest is 100% on the money).

One of the most influential scholars on the planet?? |>provoke Jim mode|< Surely not. His surname isn't Wright.
Thanks for the link, though. It turns out that Tübingen library does stock this book, so I'll pick it up tomorrow. Rainer Riesner lent me his copy of a Penna book with the small problem that it was all Italian i.e. gobbledygook to me.
I'd read he'd written some helpful passages on Pauline 'mysticism'. Do you know anything about that?
no- i haven't seen his mysticism book as i am personally opposed to it. (begin wicked mode) it leads to cathey-ism, a 21st century heresy which makes one prone to wildness.
Well, I was making a lame joke about Romano Prodi, former Preseident of the European Commission, whose name just slightly resembles Romano Penna's, if you are not paying very much attention and have had a couple of glasses of the good stuff.

Jim is right about Penna. I have his works in English. Paid $12 for the two volumes.
Thanks Nelmezzo! I haden't had anything to drink so, alas, my mind was far too sober!
Ahh, Jim. That old Cathey-ism problem eh! I've been rather enjoying watching the latest 'debate' unfold!
So, what's the difference between Catheyism and Catharism?
But seriously, what is the debate? Who is Cathey?
Nelmezzo, if you go to Jim's blog you'll find out!
